1) EduRev founded by Kunaal Satija: This Indian Ed-Tech startup based out of Gurgaon has raised an undisclosed amount in Pre Series A funding from Pradeep Reddy Kamasan, An Angel Investor from Hyderabad. The raised funds will be used for user acquisition and implementing a new model to help the colleges in the admission procedure. The company is also planning to launch more courses on the app which is in beta stage with around 4000 downloads.

2) Hoppingo founded by Swati Gauba and Mayur Sethi: This Delhi-based fashion discovery platform has raised $89K from vCommission, a subsidiary of Adways VC India Private Limited. The company offers around 800 e-stores across categories like mobile, laptop, tablet, television, wearable tech, computer peripherals and accessories, kitchen and home appliances.

3) Eatonomist founded by Dhar and Nupur Khanna: This online food-tech startup has secured an undisclosed amount of funding in its seed round led by MCube Capital Advisors Private Limited. This Gurgaon-based startup plans to utilize this fund for marketing and building brand. Started in November 2014, the startup is operated under Fitmeal Solutions Private Limited. It is an online food technology venture that delivers meals prepared at its kitchens.

4) Goalwise founded by Swapnil Bhaskar, Ankur Choudhary and Savitri Bobde: This online investment firm has secured $1 million from a bunch of High Net Worth Individuals. The venture plans to utilize the funds to scale up their technological, analytical and operations infrastructure. The company is looking to raise another $5 million in the next three to four months.

5) Roast founded by Anchal Singh and Aamer Rushnaiwala: Delhi-based startup Roast, a mobile entertainment app, has secured Rs 25 lakh funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN). The investment has been made under the ‘Small Ticket Funding” programme. Sanjay Mehta has led this round of investment on behalf of IAN and will join the company board for further mentoring the team.

6) SheThePeople founded by Shaili Chopra: This digital storytelling platform for women has received an undisclosed investment from Mahindra group chairman Anand Mahindra. The investment was done in his personal capacity. The firm will use the capital for expansion as it plans to launch a number of initiatives, including forums, events and content in regional languages.

7) mChamp founded by Paresh Shah: This Delhi-based Entertainment startup which conducts celebrity-related and entertainment contests on its app, has raised $745K in seed round of funding from MoMagic Technologies Pvt Ltd. “Entertainment and celebrity are among the key sectors in which MoMagic is looking at innovative ways of organic and inorganic expansion,” said Arun Gupta, CEO and co-founder of MoMagic.

8) Little Black Book founded by Suchita Salwan and Dhruv Mathur: This curated online city and lifestyle guide Little Black Book has closed $1.2 million in latest round of funding, led by venture capital firm, IDG Ventures India, and Indian Angel Network (IAN). Founded in 2012, Little Black Book is a mobile and web platform that currently operates out of Delhi and Bengaluru. It provides local personalized content and discovery services to consumers.

9) ClearTax founded by Archit Gupta: This startup helps individuals and businesses file their tax returns online has raised $2 million in a series A round of funding from venture capital firms Sequoia Capital India, and Paypal co-founder Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund Angel, a seed stage venture firm.

10) Arcatron Mobility founded by Banjarey, Kunal Kamble, Ganesh Sonawane and Dewaj Baruah: Yet to launch Arcatron Mobility, which designs smart wheelchairs, has secured an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Sudhir Mehta, chairman and managing director of Pune-based Pinnacle Industries, and angel investor Anoop Hingorani. The raised fund will be used for product development, and research and development. The Pune-based startup also won $100K worth of free credits from Google to be used across all Google Cloud Platform products, at the recently concluded Surge conference held in Bangalore.

Healthcare Industry

11) AddressHealth founded by Anand Lakshman and Anoop Radhakrishnan: This Bangalore-based pediatric healthcare chain has raised $1.5 million in a Series A funding round led by US-based Gray Matters Capital. Existing investor Unitus Seed Fund also participated in the round. The company will use the funds to expand its school health programme and set up specialty child health clinics in schools.
