1) YuppTv founded by Uday Reddy: Internet-based TV streaming service provider YuppTV, raised$50 million in a Series B round of funding. The investment was led by Emerald Media for a minority stake in the company. The raised fund will be utilized to further expand its global footprint, content library through original productions and acquisitions, and rapidly grow its paid subscriber base.

2) Ziploan founded by Shalabh Singhal and Kshitij Puri: Fintech startup Ziploan, raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding from GrowX Ventures. The funding will be deployed to scale up its product, technology, and data analytics. It will also be used to build a loan portfolio for small businesses.

3) Postman founded by Abhijit Kane, Abhinav Asthana, and Ankit Sobti: Bangalore-based startup Postman, which offers a platform for teams developing APIs, secured $7 million in Series A round of funding from Nexus Venture Partners. In February 2016, the Postman co-founders were among the 45 Indians and Indian-origin people that made the Forbes’ annual list of achievers under the age of 30 across varied fields.

4) Kidsstoppress founded by Mansi Zaveri: Mumbai-based parenting and baby care startup, Kidsstoppress, raised an undisclosed amount of funding from angel investors including Karan Bhagat, founder Chief Executive of IIFL Wealth. The company will deploy the capital to reinforce its technology infrastructure and team. It will also expand its services to more cities across the country.

5) Innova8 founded by Ritesh Malik: Former Flipkart chief product officer (CPO) Punit Soni has invested an undisclosed amount of capital in Innov8, a sector agnostic co-working space. Innov8 is one of the three Indian companies selected by Y Combinator, a famous Silicon Valley incubator, for its summer batch of 2016.

6) FabAlley founded by Shivani Poddar and Tanvi Malik: Online fashion store FabAlley, raised $2 million in Series A round of funding led by India Quotient and Indian Angel Network. The funding will be utilized to expand its offline reach and scale up its product offerings, marketing, and brand management.

7) ShoeKonnect founded by Chaitanya Rathi, Sumat Nanda, Siddharth Vij, and Siddharth Rastogi: Indian Angel Network (IAN) invested an undisclosed amount in Agra based startup, ShoeKonnect, a B2B marketplace for leather products. IAN’s Sahil Kejriwal led this round of investment and will further join the company board to monitor the team. The funding will be deployed to multiple business operations, enhance technology, and product development, and strengthen their marketing and development.

8) Vithi founded by Tushar Kansal: A Delhi-based startup Indus B2C Global that offers hair extensions brand LeModish, secured $ 375K in a seed round of funding from a UK-based angel investor. It has divested 10 percent stake in the process. Indus B2C will use the money to increase its workforce at company’s international hubs in US, UK, France, Russia, Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Israel, Nigeria, Australia and Brazil. Indus B2C launched its hair extensions brand LeModish in 2014 and sells products through its e-commerce site

9) inUth: The Indian Express Group has launched (in beta), a video-first, multi-platform digital destination for Indian millennials. It will be a go-to source for trending, sports, entertainment, digital culture, and other domains. The key differentiator of the stories would be its formats such as video story-telling, gifs, memes, audio stories, timeline formats, Instagram stories and Snapchat stories.

10) Newspatrolling founded by Pankaj Bansal: News-based startup raised $25K in a seed funding round from an undisclosed investor. The company focuses on sectors which include entertainment, politics, sports, lifestyle, automobile, and technology.

11) Deyor Camps founded by Dheeraj Jain, Chirag Gupta, Aakaar Gandhi, Himanshu Agarwal and Gautam Yadav: A chain of branded camps, Deyor Camps, raised $500K from Nitin Passi, Manickam Mahalingam, Udaan Angels, Rajesh Arora, and Arkas Industries. It is present in more than 60 locations across the country with more than 140 campsites.

12) Robovac founded by Mohit Shah: Ahmedabad-based waterless car washing firm, Robovac, raised $450K in an angel round of funding. It has also merged with rival Enzo Solutions and formed a new entity called RobovacEnzo. The company will utilize the funds to expand its presence in the country through partnerships with public sector undertakings to offer franchises and licences on a pan-India basis. The company also plans to distribute at-home subscription services and service centres in new construction projects.

13) BeatRoute Innovations founded by Vinay Singh: SaaS mobile application platform BeatRoute Innovations raised its Pre-Series A round of funding from Quarizon Consultancy Services LLP. The primary purpose of this investment was to get out of bootstrapped stage and to operationalize product capability to solve the problem of wasted trade promotions.

14) Maya founded by John Paul: Google Southeast Asia and India’s Vice President Rajan Anandan financed an undisclosed amount in women’s health tracker app Maya. Bangalore-based mobile app Maya is a menstruation tracker. The funding will be used to boost its user experience, product development and in expanding its user base in India.

Finance Industry

15) ISFC founded by Ankur Aggarwal and Neeraj Sharma: Hyderabad-based private institutional lender to the education sector, Indian School Finance Company (ISFC), raised $6 million in Series A round of funding from social venture capital firm Gray Matters Capital. The company will use the freshly raised funds to increase its loan ticket size and reach out to more clients.
