1) Knolscapefounded by Rajiv Jayaraman: This gamification and simulation software provider operating in the EdTech space, has raised Series A funding from Inventus Capital Partners; a US-India venture firm, and The HR Fund, an human resources (HR) focused private investment company. The investment will be used for international expansion, product innovation, and building out global partnerships.

2) Commut founded by Prasanth Garapati, Sandeep Kachavarapu, Hemanth Reddy Jonnalagadda and Charan Thota: This Hyderabad based shuttle service provider has raised a funding of $200K from 50K Ventures. The startup has completed 17,000 bookings, and plans to hit over 5,000 rides per day by the end of the year. It currently offers Web-based bookings and an app for Android users on Google Play.

3) Toko Innovation Studios founded by Aditya Mukherjee, Arnav Mukherjee and Ajitsen Surendran: This Kids entertainment portal has raised $450K in seed funding from IAN. Others who participated in the round were few angels from Rajasthan Angel Investor Network and few independent investors like Suresh Kalpathi, Akshay Garg, Srikumar Misra, and Rohit Krishnan. The startup will utilize the funds for product development, user growth and content partnerships.

4) InTouchApp founded by Sarang Lakare: Pune-based InTouchApp – a contacts management app, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from seed fund Blume Ventures. Founded in 2012, the app has got over 2.5 million downloads, and is available on all leading mobile platforms, including BlackBerry and Windows Phone. The app lets users easily share a list of contacts with anyone, and uses in-app purchases for premium features.

5) ClearTax founded by Archit Gupta: Delhi-based income tax returns e-filing website ClearTax has raised a seed round of $1.3 million from PayPal Co-Founder Max Levchin, Scott and Cyan Banister, WhatsApp’s Business Head Neeraj Arora, AngelList Founder and CEO Naval Ravikant, Dropbox VP Ruchi Sanghvi, Y Combinator alumni Sumon Sadhu, and Flexport’s Founder and CEO Ryan Petersen. The Y-combinator incubated startup was founded in 2011 by Archit Gupta along with his father Raja Ram Gupta, Srivatsan Chari and Ankit Solanki, and has been used by one million users for the assessment year 2015-16.

6) RailYatri founded by Manish Rathi, Kapil Raizada and Sachin Saxena: Noida-based rail travel information service RailYatri has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Nandan Nilekani, Co-Founder Infosys and former Chairman of UIDAI. The website claims to have served over 20 million users, and can be used to book services like onboard meals, taxi and bus tickets, and budget rooms.

7) TranServ founded by Anish Williams: Mumbai-based TranServ, a digital payments company has secured an investment of $15 million in its Series C funding round, led by IDFC SPICE Fund, Micromax Informatics, and existing investors Nirvana and Faering Capital India Evolving Fund. The company plans to use the funds to invest in new product lines like micro credit, and plans to grow at between 300 to 500 percent per annum this fiscal year.

8) Milkbasket founded by Anant Goel, Ashish Goel, Anurag Jain and Yatish Talvadia: Milkbasket, a subscription based delivery services for daily needs has bagged $500K in pre-series A funding led by EVC Ventures, and other angel investors. The startup provides a selection of 2,500 products on a subscription model, and is currently operational in Gurgaon on a prepaid model.

9) CareOnGo founded by Aditya Kandoi, Ritu Singh, Yogesh Agarwal: Medicine buying platform CareOnGo has raised an undisclosed amount in Pre series A round of funding led by Farooq Oomerbhoy of FAO Ventures and a consortium of investors, which includes Anupam Mittal and Anand Mittal of People Group, Ravi Garikipati, Head of Flipkart’s ads business, Vibhu Garg, Co-Founder of Unicommerce, Singapore Angel Network and Konglo Ventures among others.The startup had secured a seed round in Feburary 2016, and reportedly plans to expand its network co-branded stores in India’s metros and 11 other cities.

10) iCHR: Integrated Child Health Records (iCHR), a digital platform that integrates child health data through cloud computing and mobility technology, has raised $ 450K in a seed round of funding from a Delhi-based angel investor. The firm will use the funds for marketing campaigns for its mobile application which bridges the gap between the doctors and parents.

11) The Wedding Brigade founded by Sanna Vohra: The Wedding Brigade, a wedding planning marketplace, has raised $600K in a pre-Series A round of funding led by Blume Ventures, with the participation of four other angel investors. Founded in November 2014 as Indear, the startup recently launched a services marketplace, which enables users to book venues and wedding-related services in Mumbai and Delhi, and will soon expand to other cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

12) MUrgency founded by Shaffi Mather: Emergency response medical app MUrgency has raised an undisclosed sum from Axilor Ventures, helmed by former Infosys executives including co-founders Kris Gopalakrishnan and SD Shibulal. The Silicon Valley headquartered startup provides apps for Android and iOS, which lets users call and contact the nearest doctor, nurse or paramedic with a single tap on the app, with a reported response time of less than ten minutes.

13) DocsApp founded by Satish Kannan, and Enbasekar Dinadayalane: This Bengaluru-based doctor tele-consultation service has secured a seed investment of $1.2 million in funding from Facebook’s Angel Investors Anand Rajaraman, Venky Harinarayan, and Japanese venture capital firm Rebright Partners. Founded in 2015 at the IIT Madras Research Park, the company has currently over 80,000 users, and more than 15,000 patients using DocsApp every month.

14) Impact Guru founded by Piyush Jain and Khushboo Jain: Crowd-funding platform Impact Guru, a Harvard Innovation Lab-incubated startup has raised a seed round of $500K from RB Investments, a Singapore-based VC firm, and Fundnel, a Southeast Asia-based private investment platform. The funds will also be used to expand Impact Guru’s core team, accelerate product development and sales and marketing efforts, particularly for rewards crowd-funding for startups and social enterprises, and to build a larger community of donors, customers, and investors.

15) Auro Robotics founded by Nalin Gupta, Jit Ray Chowdhury and Srinivas Reddy: Auro Robotics, an autonomous campus shuttle service, has secured $2 million in a funding round led by Motus Ventures and Rothenberg Ventures. Auro Robotics provides a complete technology system, combining vehicles and a software platform to provide autonomous transportation and reduce operating costs. It currently operates a pilot service at Santa Clara University.

16) Roposo founded by Mayank Bhangadia and Avinash Saxena: Gurgaon-based Roposo, a fashion discovery platform, has raised $5 million from Bertelsmann India Investments in its Series B round. Founded in 2014, the startup claims to have listed six million products and two million downloads on its apps, available on Android and iOS.

Technology Industry

17) Druva founded by Jaspreet Singh: Pune-based Druva, has raised a strategic investment from NTT Finance, the financial arm of Japanese telecommunications company Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation. With the raised fund, the company is looking at strengthening its presence in and around Japan. Druva is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with additional offices in India, the UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.

Food and Beverage Industry

18) DropKaffe founded by Chaitanya Chitta and Rakshit Kejriwal: Bengaluru-based DropKaffe, which operated formerly as an online coffee shop, has raised $550K in a pre-Series A funding round from angel investors. DropKaffe currently delivers milkshakes and cold coffees to eight locations in Bengaluru, having previously raised a seed round in August 2015.
