google quick actions

Google is going to roll out a new feature in Gmail called ‘Quick Actions’ that will allow users to act on emails without even opening them. Some of the actions that users can take according to this new feature are viewing folder on cloud services, start writing a restaurant review with a click, RSVPing for events and so on.

You will find ‘Quick Actions’ as the clickable button at the right of an email’s subject line. The actions can be different and they will appear only if the person sending the email specifies them and provides the information for it to work properly. So the senders will have the entire control as to what action will appear on recipients’ screen. Some of the examples of actions are “Add to Queue” and “View Folder” and so on.

While taking a few actions like rating restaurants or RSVPing, users don’t even need to leave their Gmail inbox or open the email however in other cases; they are connected to other services but then if it happens so they get to see a diagonal arrow on the quick button specifying that they are soon going to leave their inbox.
