2013 has remained a very happening year for Social media. whether it is the rise of Snapchat, the growth in the importance of mobile-first networks like vine and We Chat, the acquisition of Tumblr by Yahoo, or the launch of LinkedIn’s widely successful Influencer program, there have been may instances like these that have taken place this year. However, right now we are going to talk about the brands that have created a buzz on various social media platforms in 2013. Here are top ten of them.

 

Samsung Mobile

The tech giant from South Korea gained over 14 million fans on Facebook, 4 million followers on twitter and over 86 million views on YouTube, by constantly creating engaging social content throughout 2013.


Walt Disney

Disney also attained a great success on social media in 2013 by gaining almost 1 million new fans on Chinese network Sina Weibo, and just over 2 million on Facebook.

National Geographic

It was year of its 125th anniversary and the publication, National geographic happened to be the most popular brand on You Tube this year. People watched its videos 160 million times, which is hard to believe.

Nike produced a number of videos featuring some of the world’s biggest sports stars this year that went viral and its videos on you tube were viewed over 50 million times in 2013.


Google

2013 has been a big year for Google, with the disclosure of its innovative head-mounted display, Google Glass. Not just that with 3 million new fans and above 15 million total followers on Facebook, Google has also made an impact on social media-earning.

Coca-Cola

‘Share a Coke’ campaign by this drinks giant was a great success , making more than 15 million new fans to like its Facebook page this year. Even in the year 2012, it gained 58 million views on its YouTube channel.

The music-video network MTV enjoyed a colossal success on Social media with a combined 10 million news fans following them across Facebook, Twitter and google+.

2013 witnessed Facebook to become the world’s most popular social media network. With 16 million fans on its own page in 2013, the company happens to be the most followed brand on Facebook.

The video capability released by Instagram proved to be very popular amongst its fans. In fact, their own official profile on instagram achieved a massive 16 million new followers in 2013.


YouTube

The video-sharing service has seen an enormous rise in popularity on Google+, which is the world’s fourth most popular social network after Google integrated its YouTube and Google+ services. More than 3 million fans followed YouTUbe on Google+ this year.
