An Interview with Mr. Puneet Shandilya, DSIM Trainee.

In a candid discussion he shares his success story:

“I am looking for a career change, so I decided to take training from DSIM. The real reason for joining this course is to change my career line from hardcore sales & marketing to digital marketing. Because of this I change some keyword in my Naukri profile, now I am getting good proposals. I have received an offer of 23 lakh from a leading e-commerce portal and think better offer is yet to come.”

Q1.  Hi Puneet,  you received an offer of 23 lakh. That’s amazing, what helped you to achieve this?

Ans. I am looking for a career change, so I decided to take training from DSIM. Google’s parent company Alphabet has clearly told that digital marketing is going to be the next future. Talking about revenue, 90% is coming from online advertisement.

You can very well imagine what scope of this is. If world’s largest company is saying that then for digital marketer real scope lies in digital marketing. That’s why I choose DSIM. It has helped me in understanding the basic concepts & advance concepts as well and the applied part as well. In my interviews, I am able to answer all the parameters and question related to digital marketing.

DSIM has the best curriculum or I can say advance curriculum. It covered the surface as well as deep knowledge. It helped me in understanding overall perspective of digital ecosystem. The complete curriculum helped to mold my answers to people who ask me questions related to digital marketing. So, my answers were very sharp, crisp, precise leaving an impact.

Your program helped me to get into this field. The real reason for joining this course is to change my career line from hardcore sales & marketing to digital marketing. Because of this I change some keyword in my Naukri profile, now I am getting good proposals. This helped me to get an offer of 23 lakh from a leading e-commerce portal and think better offer is yet to come.

Q2. Impressive Puneet. So, how was the interview process?

Ans. The process is very clear. They started with basic aptitude test pertaining to digital space. After that, they take you to some kind of Psychometric test. Then there are 3 PI’s. One starts with the Manager, the second level is with the Business Head and third level with the HR.
Q3. Talking about digital marketing we would like to know more about the scope of digital marketing from you? Tell us about your views in this regard.

Ans. Earlier, the scope of Digital Marketing was just limited to PR. The companies thought that PR was the only way of digital marketing. Digital marketing is related to the internet but the scope is way beyond. Now, the internet is moving to mobile. Digital marketing is not just e-commerce; there is a parallel industry which is m-commerce. People are not only using desktop or laptop but now they have entered into their phone. The phone is their best companion.

As per scope is concerned, everything related to the internet is digital marketing. Whether it is PPC, SEO, Google AdSense, Google Analytics the parallel industry is booming in mobile apps. I see lot of scope of digital marketing in m-commerce.

Q4.  Nicely explained! How was your overall training experience @ DSIM? How would you rate our trainers?

Ans. Overall training experience is pretty good. People who are lookingforwardtocareer change; this is the best curriculum for them. They give theory and practical knowledge as well. I learned different strategies for increasing more traffic and how to get good e-mailers.

I really like to give 9 out of 10 for Trainers at DSIM. All the trainers are really fantastic. Knowledge wise, they have all the answers to our queries. All of them are very good; they have different teaching styles, highly knowledgeable and very supportive. They are industry experts with lot of experiences.

Q5.  Well! It was simply great talking to you however before we end the conversation, is there something you would like to put across to the masses?

Ans. My suggestion for masses should be that it’s better to be “Digitally literate” at this pointof time.I would also like to use a term “Overload Information Syndrome”. We are getting so much of information, like “Ye Bhi Kar lo… Wo Bhi Kar lo”, but what DSIM have done is, they have taken the best thing in digital marketing space in their curriculum and formed one.

My message to the masses is “don’t get confused with something available in the market, just stick to digital marketing taught by DSIM”. That is already a cream of the cream. So, you will not be suffering from “Overload Information Syndrome.” Just stick to what have been taught is more than enough.
