Idea behind CareOnGo

CareOnGo

Once Ritu Singh, one of the co-founder of CareOnGo, placed an order for medicines with a major online portal but was very much unhappy with the service. She saw a big gap in the requirement and supply in the industry. So she thought over the project and started brainstorming over it with other co-founders Aditya Kandoi and Yogesh Kumar and the way opened for them. They decided to launch CareOnGo.

Current scenario

CareOnGo was started by Aditya Kandoi, Ritu Singh and Yogesh Agarwal in August 2015 as a 24×7 mobile pharmacy chain.

The company during the first four weeks of launch got huge response from the customers and received more than 15,000 app downloads. Currently, the service is limited to 8 Indian cities but soon they are in plan to expand to more 15 cities.

The website allows user to download the app to the mobile phone directly. All the medicines are provided from the list of approved pharmacies that are registered with CareOnGo. Many optional features are available for the customers like medicine reminders, maintaining prescriptions and invoices and many more. The company has a fleet of more than 7,000 pharmacies registered on its platform which gives users a vast option to get the medical assistance at their doorstep.

The company has tied up with several manufacturers like Dabur, Hamdard, Himalaya, Patanjali, Kairali, Herbalife, Johnson & Johnson, Pigeon, Cipla, and many more. The company has made partnership with Jan-Aushadi, which is a government-led organization to manufacture generic medicines. To attract more customers and increase its reachability, the company has built a network of 718 retail pharmacies which is growing in numbers day by day.

Growth

CareOnGo was started with an aim to provide each and every medical solution through an online platform of trusted chain of pharmacies.

Idea behind CareOnGo is to solve consumer’s problem of genuineness as according to a report, currently more than 40% counterfeits medicines are present in the market.

The company is based out in Delhi and started its operations in September 2015 after its launch in August 2015. It has expanded to few Indian metros including Delhi, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

The company with a clear vision bootstrapped with an initial capital of 40 lakhs and quickly was able to grab the attention of target audience. Recently the company raised $300K in a seed round of funding led by Farooq Oomerbhoy, founder of the early stage fund – Orios Venture Partners.

The company had not thought of getting such a tremendous response from the customer at an early stage but due to their superb offering they received super response. The company is growing 95% month on month and the number of repeating customers is increasing.

Future planning

Currently offering its services in 8 Indian cities, the company is planning to expand to 15 more cities by the end of the year. The company is also planning to launch 18 new categories to offer each and every medical solution at a single place.
