The idea

Started in July 2015, DriveU is the result of superb thought and great conceptualization of Ram Prasad Shastry, Ashok Shastry and Amulmeet Singh Chadha.

These trios from day 1 have worked day and night to increase the user engagement of their services. Talking about the background of the founders, Rahm Shastry was among early investors in Taxiforsure. Second name is of his son Ashok Shastry, who was working in Taxiforsure and after the launch of DriveU, he joined the team as co-founder. The third co-founder is Amulmeet Chadha, a product design specialist with super specialized background of working with three diverse successful Indian startups – starting with ZipDial, then moving to bus hailing app RedBus and most recently Freecharge.

Ashok was ready to launch a startup that would provide on-demand valet parking service to the customers. Moving with his idea, he even hired the team to work upon but due to the limited market space of the service going to work upon, he dropped the plan and brainstormed with his father Rahm Shastry and designer Amulmeet Chadha and finally decided to start on-demand driver service platform to private car owners.

Current & Future Plans

DriveU started its operations in July 2015 and is currently offering services across 4 cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and most recently in Delhi.
