It was announced on October 27, 2016, Twitter’s mobile app, Vine will be discontinued in the coming months.

Well, the months have arrived and the application didn’t dishearten its users. Instead of completely shutting down, it will emerge from the digital ashes like a phoenix, as the ‘new’ Vine Camera on January 17, 2017.

It will not get changed completely after the rebirth on Tuesday. The major difference will be that its own network i.e. Vine network will no longer be there.

Users will be able to record the looping videos in the same way and post them on Twitter or your camera roll. If your video is under the standard 6.5 seconds, then the video platform assures that your videos will continue to loop on Twitter.

The website, Vine.co will be transformed into an archive, so that you can keep track of all your videos you’ve made over the years.

The mobile app reached the top free app spot in the Apple Store in just six months after getting acquired by Twitter in October, 2012. Despite of surpassing 200 million users on its userbase, it couldn’t stand the test of time.

With time users moved to other video platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.

The death of Vine was announced by Twitter after struggling hard to generate revenues and find new users. The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey also stated, “finding a path to profitability in 2017 is one of the company’s top priorities.”

Vine provides you with an option so that you don’t lose the followers you’ve gained since 2013, “You can connect your Vine and Twitter accounts so that your followers can find you on Twitter with our new Follow On Twitter feature. (Note that your accounts need to be public, and you must link your accounts in your settings for this to work). We’ll notify you through the app when this feature is available. We hope this will help you grow your audience on Twitter and continue making and sharing videos there!”
