In a recent update, YouTube made the users know the creation of video credits has been disabled and existing credits will be axed from all videos on January 31, 2019.

YouTube creators were able to tag others with video credits who sincerely participated in video making.

With this credit system, people like celebrities, editors, and writers used to get credits in the video description with links pointing to their particular channels.

As credits weren’t widely used, so YouTube come with a decision to remove them.

Although, users will still get credit while contributing subtitles and closed captions to a video.

YouTube disabled creation of new credits on November 26, 2018. Existing credits can still be seen till the end of January 2019.

Even though the feature will not appear, there’s nothing to stop YouTube creators from manually writing credits in the description.

Removal of credits doesn’t mean that credit can’t be shared as YouTube is working on other ways to tag creators in videos.
