Facebook on Wednesday announced that News Feed will now support 360-degree videos on the Web and Android. The feature will be available on iOS in the coming months.

Such videos are created using a special set of cameras that manage to capture all 360 degrees of a scene at the same time.

Facebook web users can drag a cursor and mobile users can tilt their devices in any direction to experience a 360-degree panorama view.

Facebook enlisted some prominent partners for its launch, including Star Wars, Discovery, GoPro, Vice, Saturday Night Live and basketball star LeBron James.

Currently anyone can upload 360 degree videos with the launch of the feature, but Facebook is not currently allowing users to run ad campaigns with the videos.
