With a fresh investment of $300 million to utilize this year, Google Inc has started with investing into Web education.

“Google Ventures kind of invests across the spectrum but predominantly invests in early-stage companies, and they have an organization that’s super well configured for that,” David Lawee, manager of Google Capital, said in an interview. “Google Capital is only investing in late-stage investments, and we’re building an organization completely configured around that.”

According to Mashable he also said that the company has got two times the amount of money it got last year. He said that they were investing $40 million into Renaissance Learning Inc, and aim at doing five or six deals this year.

Founded in the 1980s, Renaissance Learning Inc. that provides digital tools for education allowing students and teachers to exchange ideas via the web or on mobile devices is based in Wisconsin.

The objective of the software is to improve the reading and maths skills of student from kindergarten through high school. Lawee said they are expecting to get a 1 billion dollar valuation from Renaissance Learning Inc., which is being used by 20 million students and teachers in 60 countries.
