The most popular online video community YouTube introduced a children centric app, YouTube Kids in India on Wednesday.
Being well equipped with technology, children love exploring videos and content online. YouTube’s Global Head of Family and Learning, Malik Ducard said in a statement that this app is introduced in India at a great time for zillion of Indian families as it has a huge library of learning content for children.
The unique application is now available on Google App store. It has attractive features like large images, bold icons and playful designs. Children can easily find and navigate through popular videos. The voice search makes it easier for those who cannot spell words properly.
The videos can also be watched on big screen using Smart TV, Apple TV, Game consoles and Chromecast.
Aman Dayal, Content Partnership Manager YouTube Kids and Learning of India, South East Asia said, “Indian creators are exporting large amount of content as well. There is a uniformity in the consumption as a lot of content created in India is watched outside and a lot of content created outside is consumed in India,”
New learning shows from Kids TV, ChuChu TV, chase comedy show by Toonz animation and new seasons of ‘Appu- the Yogic Elephant” and “Cat and Keet” will be added to YouTube Kids platform by creators.
It offers another useful Parental control service. With the help of this they can either broaden or restrict their kids search by putting password. The screen time can also be limited by setting up a built-in-timer.
The launch of this kids-friendly app in India will help the children to grow and learn with the content.
