Instagram yesterday announced its first 60 second video ads being rolled out, starting with selections from Warner Brothers and T-Mobile.
Previously, the maximum length for video ads was 30 seconds, which Instagram had just changed in September from the then-maximum, 15 seconds.
One of the first of these ads is T-Mobile’s extension of its 30-second Super Bowl commercial starring musician Drake. T-Mobile is now running a special, 60-second version with extra scenes on Instagram now. Warner Brothers will run a 60-second Instagram ad for its new film How To Be Single.
Now with 60 seconds, advertisers will be able to put more creative resources to tell a story about their product. But while brands get more time to sell their products on Instagram, you and I will still only have 15 seconds to tell our story.
