An Interview with Co- Founder of Omnikart.com, Faisal Ansari
Omnikart is an e-commerce platform providing an end-to-end solution for all sort of industrial supplies needs. Omnikart manage the entire process of procurement and delivery on behalf of customers reducing their efforts to minimal level and helping them focus on important tasks. It also employs technical experts who assist customers in choosing the right product for their engineering requirement.
Q1. Hi Faisal, We are very curious to know about Omnikart? Kindly tell us something about it?
Ans.Omnikart is an e-commerce system designed to meet any or all business procurement at your destinations. It is an aggregator of all the suppliers matching your requirement to a specific product based on quality, price and lead time. Having tedious interactions with the industrial/B2B market, it was ready for a channel shift. This fueled after having 5-6 years of exposure to international market.
Q2. What challenges you faced while establishing Omnikart? What was your strategy to face those challenges?
Ans.Altering the traditional procurement was the biggest challenge, suppliers being reluctant for the new channel. Our further strategies are having an extensive market analysis and getting suppliers on-board by taking care of their concern points
Q3 .Mr. Faisal, What business model and marketing strategy you are following to target your clients?
Ans.Currently we are focusing on gaining client’s trust. We are new and every client is important to us.
Q4.What are some of the most common issues you see your clients facing & how do you help them?
Ans. Issues faced are either from the client side themselves or suppliers side. This could vary from payment terms to longer lead times, delivery status, quality control, etc.
Q5.Tell us, what is the role of digital marketing in your business initiatives?
Ans.Since majority of our stakeholders are already online, digital marketing is one of the primary medium through which we can reach out to them. It is much faster and cost effective. Having Digital India campaign run by our Prime Minister, we can now reach out to clients in remote area as well.
Q6.Can you tell us, what are your future plans and where can we see you in the upcoming time?
Ans.We are looking to expand our operations to all over India soon.
Q7. Faisal, if you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Ans.Choose before you venture out, which is worth more, power over an entire nation or freedom?
